OK! So here's a new one for me to actually be writing a review for an upscale-ish Sports Bar at an AIRPORT?? Enjoying good food at reasonable prices, yes at an airport, seated at a dining table, ordering from a menu with very courteous servers is something to write about. We were taking an evening departure flight from HNL to DFW knowing there would be minimal food service on board and after strolling the terminal's unappealing fast food options the PGA Tour Grill had their menu displayed and it sounded GOOD! Although the bar area looked very inviting we were actually greeted and seated at a lovely garden view table. My husband ordered the flatbread with chicken & arugula and I had the most fresh and delicious quinoa salad, and a draft beer hit the spot! There were 4 or 5 TV's with a good variety of sports games on at a non-blaring volume creating the perfect little preflight oasis before hopping on a red-eye back to the mainland. Aloha

Usually we bypass this place on our way to the gate, but the game caught our attention so... fast beer and shots, why not. We sat at the bar and Chasilyn was both bartender and server for us. She's fantastic. Typical local girl with a bright and friendly personality. Besides the beer and shots, the fish tacos are fricken onos. Go for those. Mahalo Chasilyn and everyone else for starting our trip on a perfect note.

Food was pretty good. I noticed it took a few minutes for any wait help to notice us or anyone wanting a table. Once we were seated, it was all good. We had a good table with lots of room for us and our stuff.

Stuck at the Daniel Inouye International Airport in Honolulu for about eight hours due to cancellation of our return flight on Sunday, September 10, 2023, David and I obviously had to eat during our long wait. Luckily, Hawaiian Airlines provided us with $20 food vouchers each, but finding non-fast food, healthier fare was quite a challenge for us. After scouring online directories of the airport for eateries and perusing their menus, we decided to go to PGA Tour Grill. Perhaps we were super exhausted and hangry which affected our sense of direction or ability to read directories appropriately - we walked past Terminal 2 at least twice before realizing that we had to actually turn into a hallway into the terminal to find the restaurant. PGA is tucked nearby the staircase closest to Gate E2. We arrived shortly before 5 PM and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is small to average in airport eating house size. Table and bar seating are offered in the dining room with an open kitchen and view of the cooks busily preparing plates. Several TV screens showing news and sports are above the bar and kitchens. During our short visit, the area appeared to be tidy and clean. PGA's menu is not vast in selection of food, but the offerings focus on incorporating healthy ingredients, which was exactly what I was looking for. We both ordered The Power Salad ($16.99); one regular, another with added Garlic herb steak. Normally, I'm not into any dishes with quinoa, but this salad, also with arugula, marinated tomatoes, garbanzo beans, avocado, & herbs, was delicious. The added meat for an extra $7 was tasty as well. A healthy and yummy choice it was, I highly recommend this plate! For the prices, though, portions could have been a bit more generous. Service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter immediately asked us if we had to be out quickly to catch a flight. We had plenty of time, but I appreciated the considerate inquiry. PGA Tour Grill is a sight for sore eyes to travelers interested in healthy eating at the airport.
